Berrybleu77 and ARTastic Challenges

This page has been lying on my desk for a few days now waiting to be photographed...... its been raining here for the last few days so today I had to set up light indoors and finally click.

I've made art journal pages ever since I was a kid.... not knowing that's what they are called, but never used so many different mediums together. This page started on a base of music paper tissue glued over a cream coloured double page and this is what it became after layers of gesso, multimedium, stencils, ribbon, paint, stamping and more.

I really liked how Finnabairs doily stencil gives the effect of gravel and pebbles. The paints used are Fevicryl pearl and have a shimmer to it making parts of the page kinda glow when light reflects off it.

MONOGRAMS - Guest Designing for Scrapping4fun Challenges

This fortnight, MONOGRAMS is the prompt at Scrapping4fun challengesMonograms are a great way to personalize scrapbook pages or cards and create a focal point for your creation. Here is my take

At first when I read brief, I thought I had never used monograms before, but then I looked thorough my stash and found a whole bunch of cards that had monograms on them.

So head over to the Scrapping4fun challenge blog and give this prompt a go. You can create a card, layout, off the page project or canvas. You have until Thursday 6th of March 2014, 23:55pm European Time.

Neon colours that light up my life

Punky scraps challenge this month calls for using neon colours. I thought and thought for weeks as I didn't have any neon stamp pads or paper. At last I had an idea - highlighters! So I created my own PP and stamping using the humble highlighter and some pearl embossing powder :))

For a change I haven't used any paints to create the background and also this is an A4 layout, again something I haven't tried before.

Joining the Paper Issues - Colour by Numbers as well.

LOVE is in the air

Last week, I bought myself a few stencils. My fav of them all so far has been the Finnabair Elementals doily. I used it on the background for this card and also for the L'amour layout in previous post.

So, some gesso and few layers of PP (Prima Romance Novel) later ....ta da......... I have left the note blank intentionally to be filled with a monogram when I decide who this card goes to.... the initials can be put there or even a number if this is given for a wedding anniversary.

Oh so LOVE-ly

Happy Valentines Day peeps. I have another layout to share today.

Has this ever happened to you before? You look at a sketch and the idea just jumps at you and you cant rest till you've tried it out. Well.... that's what happened when I saw this sketch at Life Paper Scrapbook. Instantly, I knew what I want to make. So while the little one was taking a cat nap, I was playing away furiously in the next room with my paints, gesso and stencils..... and with barely 5 minutes to spare before my bubba woke up, I laid my pen down after journalling. Alas, this is the last of my music paper..... time to go shopping ;)

The photograph is from a 100+ that we took on our last vacation before kids and I've been promising my hubby an album with these photographs for ages now. So, joining the celebrations of love over at Lulupu and Off the Rails Scrapbooking.
