My first layout of my baby boy. He is only 3 months but I feel like I have known him a lifetime and more. The inspiration for this layout is again lulupu 'Scrap your Scraps'. For the background I gessoed black cardstock then stamped, embossed and used markers to create d feel of a chalkboard. The ribbon on the layout is from the decoration I used on the bassinet when I first left my son there. The music paper was initially cut haphazard. I've placed d photograph over it to coverup. All the pattern paper are left over pieces from various projects. Even after making two layouts I realise I still have lot more pieces left! I'm a big hoarder of beautiful paper - sp baby PPs.

What are lil girls made of......
.....Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice :))
Im back again with another baby girl project - this time a 12X12 scrapbook layout. I just couldn't go beyond the gorgeous Kaisercraft Bundle of Joy papers I used for the Card in a box and decided to make this layout with the left over paper from this project.
The colour scheme was inspired by the mood board at Scrap Around The World - January 2014 Challenge # 9 - A Soft & Beachy Mood Board by Kim Ewins. The design team has some really inspiring layouts too.
There were so many ideas I got from this picture - picnic at the beach, cycling tour, tea party, banners, glass beads..... but couldnt find a picture and sketch to go..... Then last week, the Scrap your Scraps prompt at Lulupu craft lounge pushed me to think again. So from the mood board, I chose to use the soft pastel shades of pink, grey, teal.I had half a dozen strips and a few squares left from my previous project and used these for layering my photograph.
The sketch for my layout is inspired by this one posted at Scrap365.I started by creating the background on cardstock using heavy structure gel medium mixed with acrylic paints through a TCW stencil. Then tried to stiple pink fevicryl pearl paint through another stencil but didnt quite get it right. When I tried to scrape the paint off with my palette knife, I liked the effect so thats how I managed to get the pink on the two corners. Next had some fun making splats... maybe over did this a little.
I had to be creative about layering as my scrap stash was mostly strips and a couple of squares. A tip: The pink polka dot and pink script papers are not one long strip but cut and tucked underneath on either side of the photograph.
To all the scrapbook challenge blogs a BIG HUGE THANK YOU from me..... not only for hosting challenges but also for creating a community for scrappers like me to be a part of.

Finally, stamped words randomly around the page in peach and pink. Some of these are embossed with pearl embossing power, some of the stamping I left as is. Lastly, touched up some places with complementary inks and water colour pencil...... Ta Da.... my layout was complete. Always feels sooooo goood when I complete a project. I wish I had more time to create.

Card in a Box - Bundle of Joy
My first project in 2014.......... so decided to try out something NEW. Haven't made cards in a really long time.... so tried something that wasn't very traditional - a 3d card. Ive always been fascinated by pop up cards and 3d elements in cards and mini albums.... hopefully I come up with a few more similar projects in the coming days.
Ive used Kaisercraft's Bundle of Joy 6X6 paper pad. Although I had the boy version of papers, there were ample pink coloured PP and diecuts for this card.
The card itself folds flat and so can be mailed easily.
Im entering this card into the following challenges:
Scrapping 4 Fun - #8 - Baby
Papertake - New Year, New Stash - New papers
Aud Sentiments - #98 - Any Sentiment
Off the Rails Scrapbooking - #4 - Height
Polkadoodle - Anything goes girly girly girly
